Walker, Steel Erection Foreman
Kirk joined
the company in August of 1978 as Steel Erector.
He continued in this position until he was promoted to
his current position as Steel Crew Foreman in 1994.
In his role as Steel Crew Foreman, Kirk is responsible
for supervising the daily activities of the company’s steel
crew. He coordinates
with the Steel Erection Superintendents, General
Superintendents, and Project Managers to facilitate the steel
crew work on their various projects.
His responsibilities include organizing the erection
activities primarily on the pre-engineered buildings that the
company erects as well as the conventional steel structures.
Kirk is also an excellent equipment operator and is able
to skillfully operate all types of forklifts and other types of
personnel lifts.
A native of
Greene
County
, Kirk attended school in
Jefferson
graduating from
Jefferson
High School
in 1977. He gained work
experience by working with several area farmers doing tasks such
as detasseling, baling hay, bean walking, etc.
He also worked with Deal’s Orchards in
Jefferson
assisting in many parts of their overall operation.
When he
isn’t working, Kirk enjoys helping his brother with projects
on his farm and loves to take trips to visit his sister.
He enjoys many outdoor activities, particularly camping,
hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
Kirk also likes to do small remodeling projects around
the house.
